INCLEMENT WEATHER
- In cases of inclement weather, check the Cayuga Skating Club homepage and Facebook page for updates/information regarding skating cancellation and arena closures.
- No make-up sessions or refund will be provided due to cancelled sessions beyond our control.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FOR THE FIRST SESSION
Here is a reminder about essential on-ice items:
- Skaters must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet—any other type of helmet is not allowed
- Make sure you have clean mittens for each session
- Skaters must wear gloves or mittens-DO NOT WEAR FUZZY MITTENS, AS THEY FUZZ STICKS TO THE ICE SURFACE AND INTERFERES WITH SKATING
- Sharpened skates* (hockey skates or figure skates) Please use the Christmas break to check skates to see if they need to be sharpened for the remaining season.
All of these items are required to be allowed on the ice. And water-resistant bottoms such as snowpants/splashpants are highly recommended for at least the first few sessions of PreCanSkate/CanSkate.
Before the first class, please allow yourself 15 minutes to arrive, obtain your child's name badge at the greeter's table, and find out which dressing room we have been assigned to. You may also check our dressing room we are assigned to by checking the screen above the doors to the entrance to the dressing rooms.
