CLUB POLICIES & PROCEDURES
PAYMENTS & REFUNDS
Registration fees and the non-refundable Skate Canada fee must be paid in full prior to the first skating session, unless alternate payment arrangements have been made with the Club. The Skate Canada fee is a mandatory fee that is paid annually, and is valid from Sept 1 to Aug 31. In all cases, this fee must be paid prior to the first skating session. If you have already paid this fee for the current season, please contact the Club directly to advise by emailing cayugaskatingclub@gmail.com. Accounts must be in good standing with the Club to participate in skating programs.
Grants are available through Canadian Tire's JumpStart program. If you have applied to this program for a grant, please contact the Club to advise by emailing cayugaskatingclub@gmail.com. Verification documentation will be required.
If you are registering 3 or more skaters from the same household, email us at cayugaskatingclub@gmail.com to take advantage of our multi-skater discount.
Payments for registration fees can be made via credit card through our secure online registration page, or by e-transfer by emailing the Club at cayugaskatingclub@gmail.com.
Refunds will be available to participants providing that the withdrawal occurs no later than 30 days from the first skating session, unless the request is accompanied by a medical certificate. All refunds will be returned minus $30 for administration fees, and the non-refundable Skate Canada fee.
PHOTO/VIDEO RELEASE
The Cayuga Skating Club may take photos and/or videos of program participants during program activities and events to use in educational or promotional materials in various formats (e.g. print, website, social media, etc). Photos/videos will only be used for purposes related to Cayuga Skating Club programs and events. By registering for programs and events, photos and/or videos of program and event participants may be used for the purposes outlined above.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Although it rarely occurs, the Club reserves the right to cancel skating sessions due to inclement weather and/or special circumstances. We will notify program registrants of any cancellations and/or arena closures as soon as possible through the Club's social media platforms.
The Club will not offer refunds or make-up sessions due to cancelled skating sessions.
WHAT DOES YOUR SKATER NEED FOR THE FIRST SESSION?
Essential items include:
- Properly fitted and sharpened hockey or figure skates that are tied tightly
- Skaters must wear a valid CSA-approved hockey helmet. Face masks are not mandatory, but are recommended for young and beginner skaters.
- Mittens or gloves.
- Comfortable active wear clothing that is layered (e.g. long johns, sweat pants or tights, splash pants / undershirt, long sleeve shirt, sweater, vest or light jacket)
Do not wear:
- Hockey gloves or protective equipment
- Snow pants or clothes that are slippery on the ice
- Fuzzy mittens as they stick to the ice and leave a residue
Arrive at least 15 minutes before the session start time. You will find your skater's name tag and relevant session information at the Greeter's Table in the arena lobby.
